Friday Faves: 5 Recipes To Try This Weekend

5 pinterest recipes to try this weekend

When I started my blog I had plans to share my DIY home projects and my own healthy recipes.   My food photography was terrible and it didn’t help that our kitchen was amidst a DIY renovation (that is still not completely finished a year later).  So In April 2016 I started some fashion posts (with equally terrible photography back then) and had a hard time balancing all my hats.  I’m trying to get back into more of my original content this year.  Most of it won’t make its way to Instagram, where image content is king, but I’d love to know if these things are of interest to you on my blog.

I broke up the 5 recipes into categories.  If you don’t follow me on Pinterest I’d love to follow you back (if you give me a heads up) to see what things you’re finding interesting.  I have several food boards including breakfast ideas, clean eating, and crock pot ideas:

Breakfast:

I put this blender muffin recipe on my blog when I was first starting out and it is a good example of why I will never win awards for photography.   Despite how it looks from the picture the recipe is quick, easy, and delicious!!

Crock Pot:

skinny taste crock pot Santa Fe chicken

SkinnyTaste is pretty much KILLING IT in the food world.  Her recipes are amazing.   All my girlfriends rave about this gal.   This Santa Fe Crock Pot Chicken came highly recommended to me by Anna from Blush Rose Style.

Dinner:

I make this chicken all the time but I just cook down a low sugar jam and the balsamic without using the corn starch to thicken it.  It’s so easy and delicious (even my carbivore kids will eat it).  I use chicken thigh quite a bit because I often overcook chicken breasts.

Dessert:

My friend makes this pumpkin crunch cake and it’s AMAZING!!!  It’s not healthy, but if you have a crowd to please – try this!

Veggie:

cheesy eggplant side dish

I laugh to even call this a veggie.  This is exactly what made me think I am not cut out for food blogging.  I want to jump through my screen and eat this eggplant recipe.  My food never looks this delicious in person, let alone for a photograph.
