signing off for the holidays

When your job (or one of them) is a passion project it can  be easy to get caught up staying up until all hours and trying to sneak in “work” during every moment of down time.   The holidays have always been a huge time of traditions and family gatherings for me so in order to ensure that I keep these traditions alive for my kids I will be signing off for the weekend.   I hope you get to do the same and enjoy what’s most important this time of year – celebrating the gifts of love and fellowship.

winter outfit: cozy sweater with skinny cords and snow boots

We won’t be getting a white Christmas this year but this sweater is super cozy and affordable as we head into many white days ahead in Connecticut.   This marled chunky knit sweater can be worn off the sweater or as more of a cowl neck.   It is currently on sale for $21.  Even better the skinny white cords I am wearing are on sale for $13!   As I recently mentioned almost all of my white clothes are affordable since my kids tend to smear me with food and dirt on a regular basis.   I sized down in the waist and length on these pants because I wanted them to be very fitted and ankle length.

The fur trim snow boots I am wearing are ones I have owned for several years and get lots of wear here in Connecticut.   Snow boots are one of the few places I invest in my wardrobe.   I had some cute snow boots from Target several years ago but within 5 minutes of being outside my feet were frozen.   In my Sorel boots my feet do not get cold.   This puffer jacket is similar to mine, which is probably almost 10 years old, and is currently 50% off!

OK!   That’s all I’ve got!  I’m heading to the mall to enjoy the hustle and bustle for a few with my brother and then we have an annual Christmas Eve’s Eve dinner out with the family (since everyone has a lot of cooking ahead).  Be present this holiday season – that’s the best present of all.   HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!  xo
