Fall Bucket List For Kids

fall bucket list of activities for kids

Connecticut life and style blogger, Pinteresting Plans shares a Fall Bucket List for Kids. See more now about adding family fun for the fall season. This sweater is such a fun piece to carry you through so many fall festivities.   I LOVE FALL!!!   September is my favorite month (alongside the Christmas season) and October is close behind.   I try to pack my weekends with family fun and I’m sharing a few of the things I look forward to most that might PINSPIRE you and your family this Fall.

Take a hayride.  A lot of orchards and pumpkin patches offer free hayrides in the Fall.  Take advantage!  My kids (despite the appearance below) love hayrides.   It’s like the tractor from our favorite stories (The Tractor Mac series) has come to life.Connecticut life and style blogger, Pinteresting Plans shares a Fall Bucket List for Kids. Pick a pumpkin at a pumpkin patch.  Depending where you go pumpkins by the pound can be quite expensive.   We usually get one at a pumpkin patch and then the rest at a local farm or grocery store.  Connecticut life and style blogger, Pinteresting Plans shares a Fall Bucket List for Kids. Go apple picking.  We have some beautiful orchards in Connecticut.   We go in the Fall and pick apples and pears which gives us an excuse to bake for the next few weeks.

Bake a pie for a neighbor with the apples you picked.   My older son loves to be involved with the cooking and it’s a good way to do something nice for a neighbor.

Attend a fair.   Rides, games, junk food.   There is nothing about a fair that my sons don’t like.

Eat a warm apple cider donut.   I’m not a sweets person but I do think a good cider donut is worth the splurge. Connecticut life and style blogger, Pinteresting Plans shares a Fall Bucket List for Kids. See more now about adding family fun for the fall season.

Rake leaves for an elderly neighbor.   This is a great way to teach kids kindness and respect for elders.

Go on a foliage hike.  Where we live the leaves are so bright and gorgeous in the Fall.  It would be a shame not to get high enough up to look down on all the gorgeous colored leaves.

Rake a leaf pile to jump into.   And snap an amazing picture of this childhood memory while you’re at it!

Visit a local farm.    Seeing live animals is always exciting for kids.   Summer can be a tough time at the farm because it’s hot and hot animal poop attracts a lot of flies.  I love to take my kids to the farm in our town where they climb into a wagon that’s on display and talk about all the animals.

Attend a Home Depot Kid’s Workshop.   Do you know about these?   The first Saturday of the month Home Depot offers kid’s workshops that are great for younger kids.   We actually went today and built a fire truck because it’s fire safety month.   It took my son almost 45 minutes to construct the truck (with my help) and paint it at the store.  It was a great way to pass a rainy weekend morning.  The kits are free and all the supplies are set up so the messy paint becomes their problem.   This isn’t just a Fall activity but I think it’s such a great program for kids.  Connecticut life and style blogger, Pinteresting Plans shares a Fall Bucket List for Kids. Donate (junk) food to a local shelter.   Teaching gratitude is so important which means helping our kids realize what they do have instead of what they don’t.    No child needs 5 lbs of candy after Halloween.  Donate that, along with some healthy items your kids pick out, to a local food pantry.  This is a good chance to talk about kids who might not be able to afford fancy costumes or who live in neighborhoods that cannot afford to hand out candy.

Find your way through a corn maze.  I have gotten lost in one of these – so don’t let your kids wander too far ahead!

As far as my outfit goes this fun sweater cape comes in ivory, black, and gray!  It was an early Fall day here, so I wore a fitted cami underneath but you could wear a warmer fitted top as the weather cools down.   I was wearing it with leggings, pajama jeans, pull-on jeans, call them what you will.   I call them practical and lovely.

What are your favorite fall activities?? Be sure to check out more fall style before you go.

I am linking my outfit below (similar booties, as mine sold out), except the sweater which is found here:
