Today’s post is in collaboration with ModCloth sharing how to tie a blanket scarf. While there are several options I tend towards simplicity. What you’ll see below is my everyday throw-on-and-go look.
How To Tie a Blanket Scarf
Here is the SIMPLE, step by step way I “tie” a blanket scarf.
Step 1: Fold the Scarf in Half to make a Triangle Shape
Step 2: Point the Tip of the Triangle Towards Your Feet And Wrap the Two ends Behind Your Neck
Step 3: Tuck the Ends Under the Front Triangle
If you don’t want to tie a blanket scarf other options include:
– Wear it as a shawl/wrap
– Ditch it! Opt for an infinity scarf – no tying involved 🙂
A fellow mom blogger wrote a post with 10 ways to tie a blanket scarf if you’re interested in some more intricate ties.
About this dress…
Some of you asked for a recommendation for a dress that would be cute for Fall family photos. This navy option with the ruffle hem would have looked great in the family photos we did last month. I am wearing size XS in this dress. It fits like perfectly (like a size 2) without being too tight. I am 5’11” so consider that the length might be different if you are considerably shorter.
It’s funny to see myself in a dress because I’ve barely worn any dresses since I left my office job mid-Summer. I wore a lot of dresses to work then, but now that I’m home with my kids everyday I have been more casual than ever. Do you wear dresses often?
I added an ivory cardigan over the dress because the temperatures fluctuate so much this time of year. I am wearing size small in the cardigan. This sweater could be reworn with jeans or leggings.
How about these boots? I love that they’re stiff enough to hold their shape and have just enough of an intentional slouchy look. I don’t have any other high boots this color. This pair fits true to size.
On an unrelated note I tried filtering many of these photos with Lightroom. Have any of you used this software? I had a lot of trouble as a first timer. If there is anyone out there who wants to drop me some tips below I’d love to learn more :). With only a background in healthcare this whole photography and webpage development stuff has been quite a (welcomed) challenge.
The blanket scarf I am wearing above comes in lots of color options. Are you a fan of plaid as the weather cools down?

October 19, 2017 at 3:40 pmWhat a great outfit! Thanks for sharing your tips on how to fold a scarf. I own a blanket scarf just like yours but I never did anything with it because I had no clue how to wear it or tie. Now I can!
