Trendy Fall Sweaters – Spotlight on Statement Sleeves

PIN THIS!! trendy Fall sweaters that won't break the bank

Today I wanted to share some trendy Fall sweaters and focus on one of my favorite details – the statement sleeve.  In the last year I have welcomed so many fun sleeves into my wardrobe.  From ruffle cuffs, to tie details, to tiered sleeves it’s hard to imagine what they’ll come up with next.

Trendy Fall Sweaters

If you remember earlier in the week I shared some affordable Fall sweaters from Nordstrom.  Today I am sharing two more options that won’t break the bank but will elevate your outfit.  The BP section of Nordstrom is a great place to shop for really affordable trendy items.   In addition to trendy tops I have found some of my best denim there as well.

I love bell sleeves and this sweater (under $40) has very exaggerated bells!  I went with size small because I wanted the sweater to be a bit slouchy around the neckline.   When you don’t have cleavage (me, tear) sometimes your best asset is the pretty detailing on a bralette such as this one.   I normally carry this taupe tote as a satchel but you can see in this recent Instagram shot I wore it as a crossbody bag when I was at the pumpkin patch with my kids.

For more details on the remainder of my outfit, see below!   I switched trendy Fall sweaters but otherwise kept things the same.

You might know by now I’m a fan of neutrals so this sweater was a natural addition to my closet.  I was looking for trendy Fall sweaters to wear with leggings when I found this tie sleeve option.  I am wearing size small above.   Also this lace bralette is my new favorite!  Several people asked it if is lined – and it is not.  I am also (in my mom body glory) wearing a size small in the bralette and shockingly it’s not baggy.  My white denim is nearly sold out.  I just ordered some new options.  White denim is REALLY difficult to shop for because some pairs show cellulite dimples and underwear lines like they’re under a microscope.

The over the knee boots I am wearing above are an affordable option and a classic, rich brown.  For reference in regards to the height of the boots you might want to know that I am 5’11”.  I have trouble finding over the knee boots I like because my legs are, to put it gently, unmuscular.  For the last year I have been eyeing the Stuart Weitzman pair because they’re supposed to be the grand-daddy of over the knee boots but for now this pair (at under $100) is more in line with my budget.

If you are looking for new scarves the one I am wearing above is reversible from plaid to houndstooth.   I love houndstooth and this scarf is really affordable.

I’m loving the statement sleeve trend. Just not when I’m cooking with bell sleeves or eating spaghetti. I do hope the trend sticks around for a couple years I think they are a cute way to add a little fun to a simple outfit.
