Today I am sharing a velvet holiday outfit in collaboration with Express.  When I asked on Instagram if you guys were interested in holiday outfit ideas 90% of those who answered said “YES”.

Velvet Holiday Outfit – Two Ways

So the hero piece of this outfit is these velvet leggings.  The velvet trend is huge right now.  I live in Connecticut so the holiday party season is a cold time of year.  I wanted to give an alternative to cocktail dresses (see this round-up of affordable holiday dresses) for those of us who are pale and averse showing leg in the Winter.

Cozy Velvet Holiday Outfit

The first velvet holiday outfit option is the warmer of the two.   This white turtleneck sweater is SUPER soft and snuggly.   This sweater is something you could also dress down as well (think loungewear).  I am wearing size small in the sweater and XS in the leggings.   I would definitely recommend sizing down in the velvet leggings if you’re between sizes.   If leggings aren’t your thing – Express also offers a wide leg velvet pant too!

Sparkly Velvet Holiday Outfit

I froze getting the photos of this second velvet holiday outfit option.   The sparkling camisole is GORGEOUS and has a sexy back.  I am wearing size XS in the top (and breast petals if you’re wondering about the bra situation).  Lucite heels are super trendy and give the illusion of longer legs.   This pair of lucite heels is on major sale and nearly identical to the older pair I am wearing.
