Weekend Recap!

cami and cardigan spring outfit

cami and cardigan spring outfit

I am working on a couple other posts that won’t be ready for a few days so I am just trying to get a quick recap of some of my pictures and doings from the weekend to share with those who might be interested.   I wore some super affordable pieces (like the $15 cami above) and ate like a queen!

Friday night I went out with a girlfriend to Savoy (if you’re local in Connecticut).   It opened a few months ago but this was my first time.   It was crowded and despite calling ahead the wait was quite long.  We ended up eating at the bar and the bartender was VERY nice and the food was delicious.   We had burrata, artichoke hearts and I had a truffle pizza.  My drink of choice at the moment is a vodka gimlet, up.   Have you had one?   Not very exciting but pretty reliable.

let's start from scratch catered brunch

Our weather was so gorgeous this weekend!!   We welcomed the unseasonably warm temps.  My friend Molly (of Let’s Start From Scratch) offered to cater a brunch for a few of our mutual friends at my house.   The food was delish!!   She is an amazing healthy cook.  If you’re local in Connecticut you should consider her weekly meal catering.   Her Thai peanut sauce is my favorite.

pinteresting plans white kitchen

If you saw on Instagram today we have been renovating our kitchen for the last year.  Quite the DIY.  I had no idea how many decisions could go into this project when we first started it last February.  Our barstools are on sale for just over $50 and that pitcher flower vase is under $15. I linked up the robe and light fixtures as well on my “Shop My Instagram” page.

snowman

My husband kindly built a snowman with our kids while I drank mimosas with friends.

lace trim cami with ivory cardigan

Can you tell I’ve been on a cami and cardigan kick lately?   This is the lace trimmed cami I wore during brunch and if you look closely you can see I spilled something on it :(.  This cami runs a little big.  You can find similar cardigans here and here if you’re interested.

mommy and me denim outfits

Saturday night we had a family birthday party.  Mac and I were twinning.   The tank I am wearing is only $18 and it’s the PERFECT fit.   Not too thin or cut so that you need a racerback bra.   If you haven’t tried denim leggings I love this pair I am wearing above.   I got the x-small (normally I wear a small) because I wanted them extra fitted.

cut out sleeve ribbed knit top

I wore this cut-out sleeve long sleeve tee when we walked for coffee on Sunday morning.   The tee is comfortable and well fitting but the cut-outs don’t appear they’ll hold up through more than a few washes.  You can see I have boob overflow on one side because I am still nursing on only one boob (TMI??) so I have no bras that fit well.  You can also see all my gorgeous postpartum regrowth hair that falls down when I put my hair up.  If you like this top there’s a similar one here that is on sale 40% off today.

pedicure footwear

I got an unexpected pedicure and didn’t have sandals with me so I had to walk home (about 10 minutes) in the flimsy foam ones they give you to wear around the nail salon.

striped bubble shirt with flare denim

How fun this this bubble sleeve top?  It’s only $22 and the material does not wrinkle!  The way I am wearing it above is straight out of the bag it was shipped in.   I am wearing the size small.   It’s very flattering.  I wore this when my hubby and I were out enjoying the afternoon weather on Sunday.

Today I am home with my kiddies who are napping at the moment.  We left the house and went to Barnes and Noble this morning because I get serious cabin fever in the Winter.   My husband is up in New Hampshire visiting his AA sponsor today.

Now aren’t you glad you used 1.5 minutes of your day to read all that exciting content 😉

Really though – if you want to try camis – you can’t beat these prices.

I’d love to hear what you guys were up to this weekend!!
