4 Ways to Style Boyfriend Jeans

boyfriend-jeans-4-ways

Boyfriend jeans are a trend many people want to love because they’re so comfortable but styling them so that you don’t look like a BOY can be intimidating. I’ve gotten some requests for tips on how to wear this style jean so in this post I want to share 4 ways to wear boyfriend jeans.

The boyfriend jeans I’m sharing here are the Tomgirl Jean from AE. They have a relaxed fit but not too loose. They have just the right amount of distressing and I prefer to wear them with a cuffed hem. These jeans fit true to size and I picked them up in the style “tall” since I’m 5’11”.

4 Ways to Style Boyfriend Jeans | How to Wear Women's Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend Jeans and a Sweatshirt

I think the go-to way to style boyfriend jeans is casual. So, that’s the first look I want to share! I’m in love with this camo sweatshirt from Amazon (it’s such a good price!) and it’s the perfect casual top. Even though it’s obviously a sweatshirt, I think the soft camo is actually really fashionable so you can totally wear this with a cute pair of strappy wedges and a trendy satchel.

Dressed Up Boyfriend Jeans

Because boyfriend jeans tend to have a tomboy, casual feel, so sometimes the best way to style them is with a contrasting item. In this look, I’m pairing boyfriend jeans with a feminine lace top (this is actually a bodysuit!) The combo of the relaxed jean with the classic lace is a perfect combo! To really elevate this look you can throw on a fitted blazer and some espadrille wedges or nude heels! It’s perfect for a girl’s night out.

I also thought this would pair great with these mixed media earrings I’ve been wearing on repeat lately.  They are only $25 so SO versatile.

Boyfriend Jeans for Date Night

Another way to dress up boyfriend jeans is to wear them with some of your favorite date night pieces. I’m pairing this deep v-neck, tied crop top with a detailed lace bralette. It’s sexy done right. You’re showing just a little skin, a little lace, but with a classic top with some casual jeans. Pair it with some strappy sandals or a pair of platform espadrilles (perfect for spring!)

Also, I love the tote I have it paired with here. It’s reversible so wear it brown or black!

Boyfriend Jeans for the Office

You might not think of boyfriend jeans as office apparel. And, in some cases, it does depend on your office. However, I find a lot of offices are getting a little more informal, and so this look could totally work on casual Friday. (And, if not, it’s perfect for brunch or a lunch date with friends.)

This sweater blazer (I have XS for reference) has been a best-seller of mine for weeks because you get the cozy vibes of a sweater with the fit and look of a blazer! It’s definitely a piece that will get tons of wear in your wardrobe. Plus, the more casual fabric will pair really nicely with the relaxed boyfriend jeans. You can dress it up just a little by adding a nice satin or silk cami and some crystal earrings – these are my favorite crystal ear crawlers!

My MAIN TAKEAWAY for styling boyfriends jeans would be if you’re new to the style – start by pairing them with feminine styles. Lace, satin, heels – things that will make them feel more girly and dressed up. Once you’re more comfortable with the style you’ll be able to branch out from there. Hope you guys found this helpful.
