Pinteresting Plans Blog
WELCOME!!! I’m Rachel, creator of Pinteresting Plans blog and I’m so happy to have you here. I am a mid 30’s Connecticut mom and nurse practitioner (that job is currently on hold) sharing simple ideas for looking put together even when you might not be feeling that way.
I’ll be 36 in a matter of days — eeek, and my lifestyle posts reflect that. Most of my content is geared at how the everyday gal can get ahead with simple style, beauty and lifestyle tips. I also post a lot of sale alerts on my Facebook page and Instagram stories.
The post that gets me the most pageviews when I mention it on social media is my family’s road through addiction. My husband is a recovered heroin addict. He went to rehab when my second son was 3 months old. It was an emotional time that is worth celebrating because we came out the other side. My hope is that sharing the story can inspire others to see less shame in taking the steps to recover. I couldn’t be more proud of where my husband is today.
Your Support is Why I’m here!
I love to interact with those of you kind enough to follow along. On Facebook and Instagram I’m asking for as much advice as I’m sharing. I don’t have it all together….at all! Hopefully we can band together and share what’s working (for weeknight dinners, under eye concealers, and over the knee boots).
Connecting with so many of you during the sometimes isolated days of motherhood has been one of the great gifts of starting this blog. I hope that through humor and real talk (apparently I appalled my husband when I mentioned chin hairs) you will join along as I poke fun at my everyday mom life.
ABOUT PINTERESTING PLANS
I started my blog with ZERO knowledge of photography or website development so this continues to be a huge learning curve for me. Initially when I started blogging (December 2015), I was sharing a lot of DIY projects I was working on in my home and healthy recipes I was trying to get my kids to eat. That’s when I came up with using Pinterest in my blog’s name. In April 2016 I started sharing pictures of what I was wearing and that has taken over most of my Instagram at this point.
As an everyday gal I share things I find interesting, inspiring, and within my budget. If you’re looking for award winning photography (my husband kindly plays paparazzi with me) or high-end designer items I’m probably not what you’re looking for. If you want to share in everyday humor and style I’d love to have you follow along with me by subscribing to my newsletter. I try to offer occasional giveaways to my subscribers as a show of my appreciation.
In 2018 I’m trying to get back to sharing some HOME content as I try to figure out things like rug sizes and window treatments which are so foreign to me (and maybe you?). I’m also always trying to increase my charitable giving. I am so blessed with a bursting closet and to give back I have an ongoing charity closet sale on my Facebook page. I also have a #GIVINGTUESDAY series on Instagram that showcases brands that are giving back. If you have more ways I can use any of my social reach in that manner – please, do share!! Off the shoulder tops will go out of style, but being kind and funny will not.
