Affordable Spring Fashion for Moms

Not only is my skin changing a lot in my 30’s but so is where I shop.   At 36 I feel like I’m a bit too old to continue to shop Juniors’ stores (not trying to call anyone out – but perhaps a store with the legal drinking age in its name).   At the same time, I’m not ready to give in to more “matronly” retailers either.  Can I be a mom trying to avoid looking matronly?

As a 36-year-old gal, I’m trying to refine my looks and be a bit more polished than band tees and ripped jeans every day.  A retailer who offers an unexpected amount of trendy brands at great prices is JCPenney. When I was browsing JCPenney, everywhere I turned I was finding cute pieces perfect for the stylish mom. And better yet, the prices were unbelievable. JCPenney offers an amazing variety of high-quality, stylish pieces at a great value. You aren’t going to believe how many cute pieces I rounded up for great prices.

Whether you work from home (me!!) or in an office, many of these pieces can be taken from day to night.  Flattering tanks, well-cut blazers, and cute shoes are wardrobe staples for me.  Would you believe I got most of these tops for under $25?! This is affordable fashion for moms done right.

Affordable Fashion for Moms: Weekend Wear

For the first outfit I put together, it was styled all around the a.n.a Anorak Jacket in Olive Camo. Even though it might not seem it, I think camo is ultra girly when worn right. The a.n.a Anorak Jacket is tapered at the waist giving the jacket shape. I’m wearing size XS above.  Whenever getting jackets in this material and style, I always look for a cinched waist to avoid looking frumpy. This jacket is a total winner. Very high quality and looks great! And will you believe I snatched it up on sale?! It’s currently only $27.99! I almost felt like I was stealing it.

Next, utilitarian jackets like this one look awesome when you wear them with super feminine pieces so I paired it with the Liz Claiborne Lace Hem Sleeveless Blouse. This is a blush, lace-trimmed tank (also wearing in XS) is mega girly and flirty, the perfect duo for the camo. It also matches great with my mauve, metallic Qupid Swirl 100 Womens Mules (which are true to size).

Now, of course, I’m still all about comfort and accessibility so I paired the entire outfit with the a.n.a Jegging. Unlike some jeggings that scream “I’m leggings pretending to be jeans,” these jeggings look and feel legit. You get the comfort and stretch you love from leggings, but the look, weight, and structure you need from a jean. Best of both worlds? I think so. These are bound to be a new staple piece!  I’m wearing my usual size in the regular length for an ankle fit (I am 5’11”).

Lastly, I grabbed the Liz Claiborne Skylar Hobo Bag in white. It’s the perfect sized purse that’s not TOO big that you regret bringing it, but still large enough to carry all your weekend essentials.  White bags are trendy right now but if you have an active lifestyle like me you might get one too dirty.   At the price point JCPenney is selling this bag for you can brave some white in your wardrobe!

Affordable Fashion for Moms: Date Night

My next outfit is a more dressed up look. It’s great for date night or casual days at the office (if you’re an office-going gal.) First, I paired it with my a.n.a. Jeggings in True Indigo because…well…why wear pants when you can wear leggings? Right?

Then I paired my Liz Claiborne Sleeveless Tiered Ruffle Blouse with this A.N.A. Striped Knit Blazer. I’m in love with the look and style of this jacket. The fit and style looks polished and sophisticated but the fabric is soft and has a nice stretch so it’s very comfortable for all-day wear!

Lastly, I wore the Michael Antonio Lovina Ankle-Strap Platform Sandals in nude. There’s something about a nude strappy heel that immediately makes an outfit look date night ready. And you won’t believe it but these are currently on sale for only $31.99! Also pictured here is the Monet Jewelry Womens Y Necklace in gold.

Affordable Fashion for Moms: Sunday Casual

Last but not least, let’s look at a casual Sunday look! I’m wearing this super cozy a.n.a Long Sleeve Crew Neck Stripe Pullover Sweater which is currently only $21.99 on sale at JCPenney!  It’s a relaxed fit.  I am wearing size small above.  This top comes in a few color options, but also has a really cute tied back detail which I adore! Since it has a loose neckline and open back, I am wearing the Ymi Bralette underneath (in size small).

If you haven’t checked out JCPenney recently, I highly recommend it. It’s definitely worth your time.  The clothes are stylish, priced to buy, and on trend for Spring! There is something for everyone in the family, too, making it a one-stop shop for affordable fashion.

Thank you to JCPenney and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.

Great post! I used to work at JcPenney, and I would always catch the latest deals and new arrivals. Perhaps that’s why my check was disappearing lol! It’s a great store all around, and I hope it continues to stick around a little longer.
