Best Cleansing Balms

This post is written by Marissa.

A year or so ago I tried my first cleansing balm, and sure enough it was all it was hyped up to be. Since then I have been on a mission to find the one I would crown as my go-to. If you’re not familiar with cleansing balms, they’re a face cleanser and makeup remover in one. I liken the feeling to if you took coconut oil and rubbed it on your face. Which I use to do before cleansing balm was a thing! These cleansing balms are moisturizing and easy on your eyes when trying to remove face makeup.

Since trying my first container of it, I have tried a total of 5 cleansing balms. While I definitely have my favorites, I think each serves their own purpose based on what someone might be looking for. From budget friendly to clean ingredients, we’ve got something for you. I am excited to share with you the kinds I have tried and my thoughts on each.

Best Clean Ingredient Cleansing Balm

Beauty Counter Cleansing Balm was the first cleansing balm I tried and is the one that got me hooked. Even with clean ingredients it remains one of the top performers and has a cult following. The price is a little steep but if clean ingredients are important to you, you won’t be dissapointed! A little goes a long way with this brand.

Best Budget Friendly Cleansing Balm

IT Cosmetics Cleansing Balm is the next one I decided to try. I almost ended my search here because the price tag was so appealing and the quality was still great. As I looked it up to link here for you guys I noticed it’s on major sale, 50% off! Run, don’t walk, if you are wanting try one of these without breaking the bank.

Best Bang for your Buck Cleansing Balm

Clean it Zero from Amazon was my next try. I used a cleansing balm so often I wanted to explore a bigger container and still at a reasonable price. I definitely noticed it didn’t work as well as the others and the larger size was negated by the extra I would use to do the same job. If you wear makeup a lot and are looking for a big container at a good price, this one is a good find. And it’s on Amazon, which is a perk for many of us.

Best for All Skin Types Cleansing Balms

Clinique Take the Day Off does exactly what it says it will. Clinique is a skin care brand that has been around forever and this cleansing balm is a testimate to that.

My Top Pick (and Travel Friendly)

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is the most recent cleansing balm I landed on and is my new go-to. The smell is to die for, fresh and clean. Exactly what you would expect out of a cleansing balm. The quality was a clear step above others I have tried and I love the different size options. We traveled for a wedding this past weekend and I was so excited to bring the travel size along. It’s also a great option if you’re looking to dip your toes in when it comes to cleansing balms and not buy an entire container.

I can safely say I have tried most out Cleansing Balms out there. Do you have a favorite that I haven’t tried? Drop it in the comments below!
