Casual Fall Shoe Trends To Try

When you think of fall, there are some shoes we all think of: over-the-knee boots, cognac riding boots and black leather booties.  Today I wanted to highlight some of the less thought about shoes for fall.   Casual shoes – like statement sneakers will be very popular for fall.   Casual shoes tend to be ones we grab a lot because they are comfortable and versatile, but sometimes we forget to think about them when stocking up on new pieces for the season.

I picked up the Steve Madden Wedgie Wedge Sneakers as well as a pair of the Steve Madden Cliff Sneakers.  Statement sneakers are a fun trend to try this season and you know I like to save on trend pieces.

Wedge Sneakers

The first pair I knew I wanted for fall were these Steve Madden Wedgie Wedge Sneakers. This style sneaker is definitely on-trend this season and I can totally see why: they are SO versatile. They have a suede finish and are extremely comfortable.  You can wear these sneakers with jeans or leggings and they give the illusion of a longer leg because of the wedge heel.

As you can see I dressed these sneakers down by pairing them with skinny jeans and a Nike Sportswear camo sweatshirt (wearing XS for reference). You can also dress shoes like this up and wear them with black skinny jeans and a nice blouse and it would totally work too! You’ll  find endless ways to wear these shoes all fall (and winter.)

Casual Retro Sneakers

The second shoe I picked for fall was the Steve Madden Cliff Sneakers. Now, these come in some crazy color options if you’re up for it. But, I opted for the more muted white/silver. I love that these are a classic sneaker style with a little bit of a twist. The heel has a fun dotted design (almost like a cheetah print) and the toe has a metallic, silver detail. They sort of have a 90’s retro vibe to them, which is definitely coming back in full swing this season. It’s a fun way to play with the retro vibe without going overboard.

I love sneakers like this with joggers for weekday chores like running errands and basic #momlife stuff. I’m wearing Clavin Klein Joggers from Macy’s here in XS. Because the sneaker is a little more trendy, I feel like it can make a basic outfit of joggers and a sweatshirt just look a little more put together.
