Easy Braided Headband Tutorial With Faux Hair Headband

easy braided headband tutorial on pinterestingplans with hair extensions

Today I’m sharing a SUPER easy braided headband tutorial. It’s not your typical braided headband tutorial since you don’t even need to know how to braid to accomplish this look in under 1 minute.  I have talked about this hairstyle a lot on Instagram as a great hair hack for bad hair days. It’s also perfect for faking a gorgeous hairstyle when you lack the time (or skills) to accomplish one.

SHOP FAUX HAIR BRAIDED HEADBANDS

The biggest “trick” to this hairstyle is purchasing a faux hair braided headband that will blend in with your hair color.  The headband I am wearing has an adjustable elastic at the base, so I wrap my hair around that band to hide it and fake the look of a braided headband.

This white bohemian top is perfect to wear over a bathing suit or for a Summer night out.   You could layer it over a lace cami or barrette depending how much coverage you were looking for.  I am wearing size XS in these photos.  My denim cut-off shorts run very small.   I ordered 2 sizes above what I order in skinny jeans.   Outside of the skewed sizing they are GREAT!    Higher waisted without looking like Mom jeans.    I wear them often with bathing suits because I like the extra coverage on the waist.  The pom pom beach tote is under $50 and it’s the perfect size for lugging towels, food, and sunscreen to the beach.   The wedges I wear wearing (not pictured) also run small.   Size up a full sizes in these espadrille platform wedges and you won’t be disappointed.

Easy Braided Headband Tutorial

Start with your hair down and behind your shoulders.

I am sharing a half up hairstyle with this braided headband but I follow the same concept and tuck all my hair around the headband in the same manner if I am having a really bad hair day.

Put the braided headband OVER the crown of your head and hair.

Pull back the front pieces you will tuck over the headband’s elastic.

Tuck the hair over and around the headband’s elastic.

Keep tucking the hair until it’s all curled around the headband.

There is your easy braided headband tutorial :).  A super easy way to style your hair in under 1 minute!  People always stop me when I style my hair like this to tell me how gorgeous it looks and they are shocked to know it’s just a headband.

If you missed my post about how I curl my hair you can catch that here.   For the waves above I used the 1″ barrel from my T3 Trio Styling Wands.

I’d love to heard some of you go to styles for bad hair days!   Drop me a comment so I can add them to my list.  I have a hair board on my Pinterest if you’re interested and have suggestions of things I can add to it.

I noticed you linked the braid you are wearing but then also linked to one from amazon. Which braid do you prefer? Thanks!

      hi!
I have one from Amazon that I got a few years ago that is great but it’s no longer available so I can’t speak to the exact ones I linked here to Amazon. I assume they are similar. 🙂
