Would you consider yourself a trend setter when it comes to fashion?   In middle school I wore mini skirts with knee high socks and platform shoes so I’ve definitely toned myself down over the years.  As I get older I try to be a bit more subtle with trends.  Trends will come and go, so these aren’t pieces I look to heavily invest in, which is why I love Topshop.  Today’s post is a collaboration with Nordstrom to share affordable pieces from Topshop that allow you to try trends without breaking the bank.  While Nordstrom offers designer trends they also cater to people like myself who have a smaller budget for these types of pieces.

Fall Fashion Trends to Try

Fall is my favorite season to dress for – mostly because it’s when leggings become acceptable as pants.   Or are they?   That’s a bit of a hot topic these days.  Stepping away from the usual Fall fashion of leggings, flannel shirt, and riding boots, today I wanted to spot light some Fall fashion trends.  Here are 5 Fall fashion trends that Topshop is nailing!

Joggers

Joggers have made it fashionable to leave the house in glorified sweatpants.   There are a wide range of options when it comes to joggers – some more like cozy loungewear and others you could wear out on the town (or to the office if you saw this recent post).  I have 2 pairs of Topshop joggers in my own closet.

These brushed skinny joggers are like a heavenly combination of leggings and sweatpants.    They feel fleecy soft like sweats but have a more fitted look like leggings.   They’re cute for running errands or lounging at the house.   These are selling out fast, for reference I am wearing size US6.

Topshop is also known for their moto jackets.  This gray moto jacket is faux leather and that makes the price really reasonable without sacrificing quality.  The gray has been very popular, so watch for a restock.  Unfortunately the Topshop tee I’m wearing also sold out in gray, but the black is still available.

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits have been selling out SO FAST all year and Fall will be no different.   Dress them up or down – jumpsuits will remain a popular fashion trend this Fall.    These would look great over a fitted long sleeve tee as the temperatures drop or under a cardigan.   The sleek black lace option would look amazing under my favorite structured white blazer.

Overalls

I think overalls are adorable but it took a bit of courage for me to get back into them this Summer.   Why was I fighting off looking too young while paying $100 for anti-aging night serum?   Looking too youthful was my hesitation, but when I shared some overall outfits on my Facebook page many gals had great feedback on the style.  These Topshop overalls have a slimmer fit at the ankle so they pair well with booties for Fall.   Nordstrom carries similar overalls in black as well.  For reference I’m wearing size US 4.

This leopard print top was featured in my recent post about how to style joggers for work.   It adds interest to your office attire or could be worn out on the town.   I love that this material doesn’t wrinkle easily.

Button Detailing

Button details on tops, skirts, and dresses will definitely be something you’ll see me wearing this Fall.  This is definitely more of a subtle trend so if you play it safe with fashion – this would be a good trend for you!
