Today I’m sharing some of my favorite Fall outerwear trends for 2017 in collaboration with ModCloth.
If you haven’t shopped at ModCloth they’re known for their colorful, retro styles (see their cute retro swimsuit in this post). Even more than that they’re know for outfitting women of all sizes (up to 4X). I wish I knew about ModCloth when my friends and I were all getting married. They have the cutest dresses and aren’t just outfitting bridesmaids who can fit in sizes 0-10.
Today I’m fast forwarding a bit to get you ready for Fall. This plaid cape is such a cute piece to wear to the pumpkin patch or out peeping foliage. I probably should have been holding a pumpkin spice latte for these photos but it’s August, and perhaps you can tell by the bulging veins in my hands, it was 85 degrees outside during these photos.
Can you believe these block heel booties and shoulder bag are around $50 each? They look much more high end. As someone who will be trekking through muddy pumpkin patches in 1-2 months I am glad to avoid expensive boots for the occasion.
I read the reviews of the sizing on this plaid cape and went with X-Small. I was worried it might be too short (I am 5’11”) but it’s not. It also comes in a gorgeous herringbone that you can see below. I ordered the skinny jeans in a a size 3 (my normal is size 2 for reference) and they fit well. The booties are true to size.
If you can’t quite think about wearing a cape just yet, here is an amazing tunic from ModCloth and a blanket scarf you can wear more like a shawl or a scarf depending on the weather. I am wearing XS in the tunic.

Fun fur will also be popular again as we get further into Fall. Keep an eye out on my Instagram because I’ll be breaking out some faux fur vests as soon as the temperatures drop (or realistically sooner 🙂
What’s your favorite layering piece for Fall? Faux fur vest and utility jackets are my favorites.
Thank you to Modcloth for sponsoring this post.
