Fall Teacher Outfit Ideas

fashion blogger wearing j. crew sweater blazer - teacher outfit inspiration on pinteresting plans blog

I have gotten several requests to create a post with outfit ideas suitable for teachers. I have lots of friends who are teachers from pre-school to college level and the dress code varies quite a bit. So while not every look will suite you, I have 10 styled outfits and a collage for what to wear to cover you through a Monday to Friday work week. If you like these types of posts, let me know! I can work on more.

I was pleasantly surprised with this khaki Amazon sweater. It’s so soft and one of my favorite things from my recent order. It’s one size and I find that it will fit most – tons of stretch and oversized fit. My pants are also from Amazon. They’re good quality a great casual work pant option and fit true to size.

I am wearing the blazer in camel – the color never picks up well on camera and is often sold out recently. But really, any color is good because this blazer is the best. I have it in several colors.

Teacher Outfit Ideas – 5 Days of Fall Outfits

Monday: Dress, Cardigan & a Low Block Heel

Mondays are hard. You can make it a little easier by starting your week off with throwing on an easy-to-wear dress. Dresses are a great option as it takes out the hassle of wondering: “does this top match these pants and what about shoes?”. For chillier days, you can layer it with a long cardigan. This one is a great fall staple piece because it can be worn with many other outfits.

Tuesday: Sweater, White Jeans & Tall Boots

Colorblock is a huge trend for fall. Instead of this sweater, here is a cute colorblock cardigan I have been getting a lot of wear out of lately. It looks very similar to the popular sold out Madewell cardigan, but a lot more affordable. You can pair with white jeans and tall boots. I know a lot of teachers probably don’t want to wear white so if that applies to you, the white jeans also comes in a black that you can swap out for.

Here are two more variations of styling white pants. White in the presence of kids is sort of a gamble so I wait for white pants (or jeans) that are on sale!

Wednesday: Basic White Top & Midi Skirt

I think the phrase “look good, feel good” is a true statement. Conquer the middle of the week slump with a fun outfit. What is more fun than animal print? I am usually not much of a skirt person, but do make some exceptions. If you are like me and can usually do away with skirts, these snake print wide leg pants would be a good workwear option instead.

Thursday: Cami, Slacks, Cardigan & Flats

A pair of black ankle pants is always a good idea for looking polished and professional. For teachers who are on their feet a majority of the day, save your feet the discomfort and consider keeping the heels at home and put on a pair of comfy, stylish flats. You can wear the same cardigan from Monday’s outfit or if you want to take the professional workwear outfit a step further, switch to a blazer like this one instead.

Casual Friday: Sweater, Jeans & Slip-Ons

End the week strong and do casual Friday with a pair of comfortable dark wash jean leggings, a cozy sweater and leopard print slip-ons.

I am a fan of mixing prints. Here is another way you could dress for casual Friday:

Comfortable Shoes

My personal shoe collection has changed a lot since I left the office. I had several pairs of flats for days when I would be on my feet a lot. Here are some flats I liked to pair with the outfits above.

What’s great about many of these pieces is that you can easily mix and match to recreate new outfits. You can think of it as a mini teacher capsule wardrobe! If you are new to the blog, you can see the entire capsule wardrobe series – here. I hope you found this helpful.
