Formal Jumpsuit – Comfortable and Chic Wedding Guest Attire

wide leg formal jumpsuit perfect for wedding guest dress on Pinteresting Plans fashion blog

We’re definitely well into wedding season, which also means we’re into Bridal Shower, Rehearsal Dinner, and Bachelorette Weekend season, too! All these events mean one thing: you need some great outfit ideas. If you’ve been feeling dress fatigue lately (sometimes you just want something unique and different) I say try a jumpsuit! They give you a totally different look and style to rock and there are so many amazing formal jumpsuits for weddings available.

Formal Jumpsuit – Comfortable and Chic Wedding Guest Attire

Jumpsuits come in so many different styles now!  From a well-fitted jumpsuit that’s a little more sexy, to a romantic chiffon jumpsuits, to structured jumpsuits, there are jumpsuits for every occasion.  Today I want to share how I styled this amazing off-the-shoulder jumpsuit from Lord & Taylor. If you haven’t tried Lord & Taylor yet when looking for your special event outfits, it’s one of the best-priced secrets out there. You can find loads of variety from dressy jumpsuits to traditional dresses and know you’re not breaking the bank.

This Adrianna Papell one-shoulder jumpsuit has a draped off-the-shoulder neckline which is very chic this year. Yet, the cut is timeless making is a great combination. I also love the way the fabric drapes in the front because it gives a little extra tummy coverage (so you can shamelessly eat all the wedding cake you want). The loose fitting legs also means this jumpsuit is insanely comfortable! You can easily wear it all night from the ceremony to the dance floor. Because it has wide legs, I paired it with some dressy Dolce Vita rose gold flats.  For length reference, I am 5’11” and had to wear flats.   I’m wearing size 2 which is my usual size and this fits well.

Whenever I wear black I add statement accessories.   This bamboo bag gained popularity last Summer but was impossible to get your hands on.   This wood Betsy Johnson Clutch is sure to catch a lot of attention along with the affordable Design Lab bracelet.  My exact bracelet is currently sold out but there are lots of other gorgeous Design Lab bracelets on sale now.

Comfort: Often, jumpsuits can offer a lot more comfort and movement than formal dresses can. They are great for long events like weddings because you’ll be comfortable all night instead of squirming in your Spanx.

Shoe options: Like with the jumpsuit I styled above, many jumpsuits look killer with flats, so you don’t have to feel bad leaving the heels at home. This is perfect for outdoor weddings (heels and grass don’t get along!).  Also, I don’t know about you but I always want to slip into flats when it’s time to hit the dance floor anyway.

More choices: We’ve all gone dress shopping for a special event only to go to store after store to find NOTHING. Trying on some jumpsuits gives you more options.

Stand out: A jumpsuit is a subtle way to have a more unique outfit without screaming “LOOK AT ME!” I think a formal jumpsuit makes any woman look instantly more chic. It’s sort of a statement to wear one, in the best way!

Formal Jumpsuit Choices You’ll Love:

Like I mentioned, I suggest you browse Lord & Taylor for jumpsuits. They have a Family & Friend’s event that runs June 7th-18 which offers an extra 30% off almost all your favorite brands & 15% off almost all beauty! It’s a great time to stock up on any outfits you have for events this summer (or fall if you are good at planning ahead!).

The sale is also a great time to get in some last minute Father’s Day shopping!   I took my hubby on a surprise family getaway for Father’s Day (we just celebrated early because the date coincides with my son’s birthday weekend) but I wanted him to have some goodies to open on Father’s Day morning.  Candy made from green juice must be healthy, right??  The gummy bear “cleanse” would have been another good gift for my hubby.

I also grabbed my hubby’s favorite hair product – Kiehl’s Texturing Clay.   I have definitely dipped into his pot when I’m wearing an updo!   It’s great for giving your hair some grit.

Thanks for stopping by!!  Have you guys “jumped” on the jumpsuit trend yet?   Drop a comment below – I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you to Lord & Taylor and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.
