Holiday Gift Guide 2016: Gifts for the Host or Hostess

holiday gifts for the hostess

Hostess Gift Ideas

Hosting a party is a lot of work.  So shouldn’t we thank the holiday hostess (or host) with a fun gift as a gesture of our appreciation for all their cooking, cleaning, and preparation?   We should!  And admittedly I am bad about this.

I updated the links for this post to 2017 items and most are the same.   Click on the item above to links to the appropriate retailer – ALL ITEMS HAVE FREE SHIPPING.

Is it a party without wine?

(My husband is an alcoholic so that’s a joke, no hate mail, please).

I rounded up some really cute hostess gift ideas most anyone could love.

If you are stopping by the home of someone who loves wine I love this wine flight set.  There is chalk to write in the type of wine in front of each tasting glass.  Napa was one of the best trips I can ever remember.  I would love to recreate some of that at home with friends.

Since I, like many, am a coffee and wine lover I linked up some fun coffee mugs (for home and a travel mug), wine glasses, and monogramed moscow mule copper mugs.  Wine and foodies usually also love cheese.   I love this affordable marble serving tray (under $30) and this wine bottle cheese board.

The individual dessert crocks are also fun if you know someone who likes to bake.  You could cook mini apple crisps or lava cakes in these.

When all else fails if you feel obligated to bring something you can’t go wrong with a gift card to Pottery Barn or some other home store you know your host would like.

Do you bring a gift for the hostess?  Or have you received one you really liked?  I’d love to hear.   If you are looking for other gift ideas you can check out the HOLIDAY SHOP section of my blog for ideas for everyone in the family!
