jeans for tall girls - paired with blazer for fall outfit

A lot of you gals follow because I’m tall (5’11” for reference) and you are too, and want outfit ideas that will work on long limbs. Today I’m partnering with Express to share some of my favorite fall jeans for tall women.

Finding jeans that are long enough can be a struggle if you’re tall. Personally, I like my skinny jeans to be ankle length, so I find “regular” length skinny jeans have that slightly cropped look I’m going for. But as this look is catching on more and more, I’m finding a lot of skinny jeans are cut for an “ankle fit” on an average height frame. For me, a “regular ankle fit” looks like capri pants, and that’s not a look I’m going for.

Express is one of only a few retailers I shop at that stocks “long” jeans for those of us blessed with long legs. All of the jeans I’m sharing today are in the “long” sizes. And, just a heads up, my local Express does not stock long sizes in store so you’ll have to check online. I do have a ring code for you at the end of the post if you prefer to shop in store!

Below I am sharing 3 pairs of jeans for tall women that will be great for fall. I wanted to share jeans that were just a bit “extra” and on trend, but Express also carries awesome everyday denim as well.

The Classic Skinny Jean

Let’s start with classic skinny jeans in classic denim blue. As I said, I wanted jeans with a little something extra for this post – these have a fun zipper detail.

Sure, the perfect jean is nice, but not always easy to find. I LOVE these Express jeans because they are specifically designed to lift and hold. These jeans seriously fit amazing (I’d worn them MULTIPLE times since washing them in this photo and their shape held up so well!!). They have paneling built-in that really helps flatten and shape. I find these so flattering and comfortable.

I also love fully tucking my top into my jeans lately, not just the French tuck. I think it’s a simple way to make a pair of jeans look more polished. And, with a full tuck, I like pairing it with a belt. The one I’m wearing here reminds me of a designer belt but it’s a much more friendly price point.

As far as the rest of this outfit, I’m wearing The Downtown Cami. It has been a staple cami for me for almost 2 years. It washes so well and goes with everything! I’m wearing an xs. I layered this knit blazer which is super chic but also super comfy. It also feels like a sweatshirt and fits true to size (wearing xs).

Acid Wash Skinny Jeans

I am old enough to remember the 90’s well and I remember acid wash jeans. If you only like to dabble in trends, a unique wash like this is a good place to start. The fit of these jeans is AMAZING! Like the pair above, they hold their shape really well. I’m wearing size 2 Long because they’re an ankle fit.

Because the jeans are very fitted I paired them with an oversized top. If you follow me in Instagram you know that’s a combo I often reach for. I love this front-tie sweater because it’s just so effortless (and super cozy). It’s an off the shoulder fit and true to size, but I went up a size because I wanted it a bit big.

Wide-Leg Jeans

Ok, so I wanted to try one other trendy jean. Getting a wide-leg pant is usually pretty hard for someone with longer legs. It’s just not a look you can pull off if the jean is too short. Pairing wide leg pants with heels will give you the illusion of mile long legs. I love that these jeans are long enough for me to wear them with heels. I think this trend is very flattering, I love these!

I like to pair wide-leg or flared jeans with a top that’s more fitted in the waistline. Sort of the opposite of what I did in the previous look, keeping one piece structured helps you avoid looking frumpy. A bodysuit is a great option for this look, however using a public restroom in a bodysuit isn’t all that fun. That’s why I love this tank because it fits like a bodysuit without the bathroom hassles. I’m wearing a size small (size up if between) and it comes in tons of colors. This is a great tank to wear alone or for layering under a blazer or moto jacket when the temperature cools down.
