Modern Basics for Fall (featuring the most comfortable pair of jeans you’ll ever buy)

If you’ve been following Pinteresting Plans for a while, you know a few of my go-to style requirements are comfort and classic. While I love playing with trendy pieces, nothing beats the basics because they are easy to style and timeless.  As a mom of two active boys, comfort is always a must as well.

That’s why I’m excited about today’s post because it combines those two things! I’m sharing an outfit of modern basics for fall that I’ve put together in collaboration with Everlane. At Everlane, they focus on timeless, well-designed pieces and this Fall they just launched their new jean, the Authentic Stretch.  What stands out to me above the awesome fashion at Everlane is their mission to better the practices of the industry.  Everlane ethically sources their products and gives back profits to improve the factories they work with.

The new jean release, The Authentic Stretch, has the look of a classic, rigid denim, but has all of the comforts of stretch jeans. These jeans have just the right amount of stretch to make them SUPER comfortable, but they still hold their shape (no baggy booties here!).  I am usually a size 26, but in these jeans I’m wearing a size 25 which works fine because of the stretch. If you prefer a more “locked and loaded” feeling with your jeans consider sizing down one – especially if you go for a high-rise pair.

For your reference, these jeans come in both high-rise and mid-rise. I’m wearing the mid-rise in the dark wash and regular length.  Also, these jeans are a really reasonably priced for high-quality jeans you’ll wear over and over again. They are especially worth their cost because they hold they shape over time.

I wanted to put together a classic Fall look for you with these jeans.  On the top I paired these jeans with Everlane’s Cotton Turtleneck Tee (I’m wearing the XS). Nothing is more comfortable than a cotton tee, but something about a turtleneck always just makes me feel more chic and put together.   Not to mention no one forewarned my of the changes that take place on a 30 something neck :).  I tucked this top into my jeans and paired it with a wide belt. This not only helps to define my waist but also gives the look a more finished feel. If you want a more casual look, you can wear the shirt untucked (which I shared below).

Last but not least, let’s talk shoes. I love the look of a skinny jean with a bootie this time of year. I’m wearing the Day Boot in the color “brick.” It’s a sort of reddish brown that I think is perfect for Fall. Plus, the leather on these shoes is SO soft and the quality is amazing – definitely a staple item for years to come.
