Lots of talk this time of year about new year’s resolutions but what I wanted to share today was my word of the year. Have you even thought about that? I started to a couple years ago. It’s a word that I think will be integral to my success in the new year and for 2020 my word of the year is PRIORITIZE.

Like most of you I have so much going on with work, family, and fun. I manage two businesses, 5 people who work with me, and the finances and day to day happenings of our family of 4. If I allow, it can feel overwhelming at times.

When I think about where I want 2020 to take me I know my success will come from how I prioritize my time. Time is really the most valuable thing I have. With a successful business and two kids who seem to be growing up at lightning speed, I often have an inner battle of where I want to put the hours of my day.

Like many entrepreneurs I put my health a bit on the back burner last year. Time was sparse while moving and trying to maintain momentum with work. We just set up a home treadmill that will allow me to squeeze in quick workouts without taking the time to drive to a gym or wait around for a class time. Even walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes a day is lapping the gal who was plugging away behind her screens more than she was keeping up with her fitness in 2019. Preventative medicine is so much less costly than playing catch up on poor lifestyle habits.

So anyway, without getting diarrhea of the mouth, I’m setting family as my number one priority for 2020. It always has been in my mind, but not always in practice. My vision can get cloudy and if I think back to where I set my intentions at the start of 2020 it will help me stay focused when decisions might seem difficult.

When you work in a predominantly online business you realize the doors are open 24/7. More hustle can mean more income, but at what cost? We have certain savings goals I aim to hit, but beyond that I never want to look back and think I missed moments with my kids to make a few extra bucks.

If any of you set a word of the year for 2020 I’d love to hear from you below! I love to be in the company of other people striving to get better each year. Thanks for tuning in for 2019 – I hope I can offer you new ideas to help your life and closet in 2020.

I don’t think I can narrow it down to one word LOL. Prioritize, focus, and breathe would be my three. 2019 I felt scattered and hectic and had a lot of anxiety trying to succeed at work, grow my blog, but also make sure my family and kids were 1st. I felt crazy ha. So this year I want to prioritize what matters, focus on one task at a time and breathe when I’m getting anxious! Love your blog and all of your posts. You’re a true inspiration to so many people from mom life, to your style, to being an entrepreneur, you make it all look achievable!

I haven’t really thought of a word for 2020 but I really love this concept! Prioritize is a great one. Right now I’m definitely trying to juggle working full time while raising kids and working on my side hustle.
