Nordstrom Fall Business Casual Capsule Wardrobe

I’ve heard form you guys a lot of offices are moving towards a more business casual dress code so I thought I would create a workwear capsule wardrobe with pieces are a bit less less formal. This 19-piece capsule wardrobe is curated all from Nordstrom for easy browsing and shopping. I thought this might be helpful based on the great response to this post with teacher outfit ideas.

Have you ever thought to yourself: “I have all these clothes, but nothing to wear”? Capsule wardrobes will solve this problem. The pieces in this capsule were thoughtfully selected, making sure they would be able to not only be worn alone, but also mixed and matched with other pieces in the collection. The endless amount of outfit combinations you can recreate will ultimately help you save money and lessen the time it takes putting together an outfit every morning. I hope you find this helpful!

Tops:

Let alone a workwear wardrobe, every closet needs a white tank that can be worn alone or layered under cardigans and blazers. A striped long sleeve is an easy go-to as well as a white blouse that is on the dressier side. To add some print and texture, you can add this leopard scarf with any of these tops or put on a cardigan or blazer for an extra layer.

Outerwear:

Blazers are known to traditionally be a formal workwear piece but that isn’t really the case with the plaid blazer. It’s very on-trend for fall and can be worn with slacks or casually with jeans. It looks chic and stylish both ways!

Bottoms:

From casual jeans to dress pants and corduroy straight leg pants that fit both categories. I chose a nice, dark wash pair of jeans and the light blush pink shade on the paper bag pants is so cute.

Dresses:

This staple black dress is casual but also work appropriate. I bought it during spring in the mauve shade and I love it. Recommend sizing down if in between. I have it in the extra small. For layering, you can throw on the plaid blazer or long cardigan over it.

The snake print midi dress is long enough to be business casual while the style and print is flattering and on-trend.

Shoes:

Block heels, booties and mules are all classic shoe styles. For shoe lovers, having only 3 options may seem like it’s not nearly enough. Although if you are really committed to sticking to a work capsule wardrobe, these 3 pairs will take you a long way. I intentionally kept the colors neutral and chose staple and versatile colors – taupe, camel and black.
