Welcome! I’m Rachel, creator of Pinteresting Plans blog. I am a mom of two young boys, wife to Chris, and previously a nurse practitioner. I’m in my (eek) late 30’s and so my lifestyle posts reflect that. Most of my content is geared at fashion – especially where to find the deals and how to rewear the pieces.
Sometimes I throw in lifestyle content such as home decor and recipes. Many of you also asked for men’s outfit ideas so I convinced my brother and husband to post some outfit ideas on their Instagram handle (shop the outfits here on the blog).
One thing I purposely overshare is my family’s road through addiction. My husband is a recovered heroin addict. He went to rehab when my second son was 3 months old. It was an emotional time we now celebrate. I have always been open about my family’s road through addiction in hopes that sharing the story and can inspire others to see less shame in finding the road to recovery. In 2018 my family and I started a clothing line called Recovery Wear Clothing that gives back to causes that benefit those seeking help with addiction.
Your Support is Why I’m here!
Connecting with so many of you during the sometimes isolated days of motherhood has been one of the great gifts of starting this blog. On Facebook and Instagram I’m always asking for as much advice as I’m sharing. I don’t have it all figured out, so hopefully we can band together and share what’s working. From weeknight dinners and under eye concealers, to over the knee boots I want to hear what you love too! I hope that through humor and real talk (apparently I appalled my husband when I mentioned chin hairs) you will join along as I poke fun at my everyday mom life.
ABOUT PINTERESTING PLANS
I started my blog with ZERO knowledge of photography or website development so this entire process is a learning curve for me. Initially, when I started blogging, in December 2015, I was sharing a lot of DIY projects but like most blogs do, this one has grown with me. In April 2016 I started sharing pictures of what I was wearing and found that it allowed me to connect with a larger community.
If you’re looking for award-winning photography (my husband kindly plays paparazzi with me) or high-end designer items I’m probably not what you’re looking for. If you want to share in everyday humor and style, then this is the place for you.
