SAVE OR SPLURGE: Summer Bag Edit
Do you have any particular rules you follow when it comes to a handbag budget? There are SO many options for so many occasions. An office bag, a beach bag, an evening bag, an everyday bag. My handbags are taking up a huge amount of space in my closet.
I have been wanted to pull the trigger on a splurge bag for awhile but I keep chickening out. It’s hard to find the perfect summer purse you’ll use for a few seasons. So, while I decide if I’m going to pull the trigger on a splurge bag, I wanted to share a few save and splurge options for Summer handbags.
Bamboo Arch Clutch: These trendy purses have been on the scene for a few years now. Perfect for someone who wants a posh, trendy look. They dress up great for special events, too.
Round Woven Bag: The MVP of summer bags right now. These bags match pretty much everything and are super versatile.
Straw Totes: For those of us who need to tote (get it) more around. These have the chic straw style, but the shape and size is super functional.
Leather Handbags: For the classic gal, you can’t go wrong with a leather handbag. They are great for summer and translate into fall and winter as well.
SHOP THE SAVE HANDBAGS:
Obviously, save bags are always a great choice. You can typically get a very close dupe to some of the splurge bags at a FRACTION of the cost. Sure, the quality isn’t often quite as good, sometimes you get what you pay for. But if you really want to fill a void in your closet and grab one of this season’s trendy styles then it’s a great option.
SHOP THE SPLURGE HANDBAGS:
Splurge handbags are always something special. Because you’re spending more, I always look for something a little more timeless I know will last me more than a season! I want to be able to use it for years. Splurge bags do hit the wallet, but they are high-quality bags you could literally use forever if you wanted.
My tip for splurge bags is to first, save up for one. They can be an investment but you don’t want to regret the purchase and be paying it off your credit card for months. Save up for it and the wait will make having it even more special. The second tip is to choose something somewhat classic, so it will match tons of styles and outfits so you can get the most use out of it.
I’m curious what kind of purse/bag buyer you are. Do you only buy the steals or do you like the splurge on occasion?
