Sephora Beauty Insider Spring Sale Picks

sephora beauty insider spring sale picks - pinteresting plans blog

Hello Friends!! Sephora rarely has site wide sales so if you’ve been wanting to try some new products or stock up on old favorites now might be the right time! The Sephora Beauty Insider events are when Sephora offers Beauty Insider Members (free to sign up here) access to an annual Spring Bonus discount.

Membership is tiered based on how much you spend annually. If you are a Rouge Member you get access to the event first [4/26 – 5/1 AND 5/2 – 5/6 ] and receive 20% off your purchase with the code HEYROUGE. After that VIB Members can shop with code HEYVIB [5/2 – 5/6] & receive 15% off and Beauty Insiders get 10% off during those same dates by using code HEYINSIDER. I am VIB member because I buy a lot of products on Amazon, Ulta, and at Nordstrom as well. I’ll share my Sephora picks as well as products you cannot purchase on Sephora.

PRODUCTS I LOVE:

Drunk Elephant The Minis – I bought this set a few years ago and actually tried to return it because it was kind of pricy just to try new products. I had paid with PayPal so the store told me I would have to mail it back and I got lazy and ended up keeping it. SO GLAD I DID!!! These products changed my skin. Specifically the day and night serums, but this little set allows you to try everything. Even these little containers allowed me to see so much change in my skin that I went on to purchase full size products. At the time they didn’t have the bronzing drops but I’ve heard they are amazing so I’ll be checking them out thanks to this sale.

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara – My favorite mascara is the Honest mascara that comes with a primer in the same tube as the mascara. I find that the mascara end of the tube runs out after only about 2 months but there is still quite a bit of the primer left. When the Honest mascara loses its staying power I combine the remaining primer with this Superhero mascara. It adds a lot of length and volume and doesn’t flake off.

Tan-Luxe The Face Tanning Drops – I’ve spoken about these a lot lately. I love that they mix with your usual moisturizer and give your face a subtle/healthy glow. I try to avoid a lot of sun on my face so these drops save me from looking like a ghost. I use about 3 drops of the light/medium every night.

Tarte Powder Palette – I’m starting to move away from powders because my mature skin looks dry pretty easily, but I’ve loved this Hamptons palette for a long time because it’s 3 great everyday shades. I can take this palette on vacation and use it for all my needs. I even use the bronzer/highlighter on my lids as eyeshadow if we are going out. It really saves you so much space in your makeup bag to have all 3 shades (and not 6 others you’ll never use) in one small palette.

PRODUCTS I’M ORDERING:

Verb Dry Shampoo – I was looking for a dry shampoo that was not aerosol and this one has pretty good reviews. I find the Batiste brand of spray dry shampoo, while inexpensive, works almost as well as the Living Proof Dry Shampoo. So that’s what I’ve been using most often.

Tacha Silk Canvas Primer – When I was at the RewardStyle Conference I commented to Sweet and Petite how gorgeous her skin looked. She said it had a lot to do with this Tacha Primer and it falls under Sephora’s “Green Beauty” so I’ll be giving it a try on my own skin.

Kat Von D Creamy Contour Palette – I mentioned above I am moving away from some of my powder products because of my “mature” skin. I find creamy products give my skin a better finish so I’m looking forward to trying this creamy contour palette. Each shade can be individually replaced, so you don’t have to buy a whole new palette just because you use certain shades more often.

Ilia Look and Cheek Stick – In my mid 30’s I started noticing how pale my lips were getting. I was looking for something to throw in my bag that could double as lip and cheek color. Again, this product falls into Sephora’s green beauty category so I’m looking forward to trying it.

I also wanted to mention some of my top beauty products that aren’t available on Sephora.

Honest Mascara – This has been my favorite mascara for over a year. The primer (included in the same tube) gives it amazing staying power and it’s really lengthening. I mentioned about how the mascara runs out in about 8 weeks so at that point I use the primer with other mascara favorites.

Shape Tape Concealer – I ALWAYS go back to this concealer. While it is a bit dry, I think it has the best coverage and staying power of any concealer I have tried (which is A LOT). I use different shades depending on the time of year in the light/medium family.

NYX Butter Gloss – I know the matte lip trend is still hot, but matte looks so dry on me. My lips really show their age lines when I use matte products. The NYX butter gloss (in shade creme brûlée) has been my favorite for a while. I also tend to lose lip products since I tote them around with me so I love the price tag on these!

Amazon Beauty Sponges – A super affordable alternative to the popular Beauty Blender brand, I have been using these sponges on a daily basis for over a year and they blend makeup SO WELL.

Colleen Rothschild Vitamin C and Retinol Serums – So many people had told me to use Retinol, but every time I tried my face would PEEL like crazy. Even just using it once a week I had to survive 3 days of flaking. I guess this effect tapers off with use, but I never made it past the first couple weeks. I got samples of the Colleen Rothschild Vitamin C (am) and Retinol (pm) serums and it made me switch from my Drunk Elephant products. I’ve been using the Colleen Rothschild serums for about a month and I love the results.

Vitamin E Face Oil – I’ve mentioned this a few times on Instagram stories and the common question is whether I use it both morning and night. I do, but it can make your skin look a little greasy during the day so if that’s not your thing use it just at night.

What type of skin do you have? I’ve been curious about the Drunk Elephant kit but am not sure about it for my oily skin – just curious!

      Hi Lauren!!
I have combination skin. Dry in the winter, more oily in the summer. I use a less expensive face oil in the winter but I’ll cut that out once the Connecticut weather becomes warmer and more humid.
      Thanks for stopping by!!
