Shein Review: How I Pick Clothes from Shein.com

spring outfit ideas: camo jacket with lace insert camisole

I have been getting a lot of messages asking for a Shein review.  I get questions about my experience with them and their shipping, the quality of the items, and how I select clothes from their website.   I know a lot of people are turned off by the very low price and international shipping.  Certainly some items are not the highest quality, but overall I have had a positive experience with the items I have selected.

Connecticut life and style blogger, Pinteresting Plans shares a Shein Review and her experience with ordering clothes from Shein. spring outfit ideas: camo jacket with lace insert camisole

Shein Review:Things to consider when ordering from Shein:

  • Some items are one size.   The one size items I have ordered fit me.  I am usually a size small.   So if you’re not between a small and a medium I would likely steer away from these items.
  • Consider the material.   A high-quality material can drive up the price of an item.   Sweaters in particular can look quite cheap when they’re synthetic.   So I look for pictures that zoom in and show what a knit looks like up close or if a material looks very sheer.
  • I look for items they show on real-world people.   Shein is good about adding pictures of their buyers and bloggers wearing the items in real photographs.  Seeing the clothes on several different figures will give you an idea for how an item looks in an everyday setting (as opposed to on their model or a hanger).
  • Speaking of hangers….I made the mistake of ordering a sweater they showed on a hanger when I first started working with Shein.  I was expecting an oversized, cold shoulder, sweater but instead what I got was tiny and cropped.   I ended up wearing it over a fitted cami and it worked but I wouldn’t order something off a hanger photo again for this reason.

You Mostly Get What You Pay For

In my opinion if you’re looking for trendy items you aren’t looking to hold onto for more than a season (maybe two) then Shein is a good option.   While I have had some rare misses (a horrible orangey suede moto jacket that was supposed to be brown and was as thin as a light shirt) I have gotten so many items I love that were really affordable.   I figure a miss is allowed when you can get 3 knock off camis for less than a quarter of the price of the designer equivalents.

The shipping has generally taken about 10-14 days.   I have not bothered to return anything so I cannot speak to what the return process is like.   If you ever have questions about the material or fit of an item just shoot me a message (either a DM on Instagram or email pinterestingplans@gmail.com) and I am happy to try and help you.  That goes for any items I show – not just those from Shein.

Take a look at this Chloe bag dupe that I own.   It looks GREAT in person, and here they are side by side:

Here are some of my favorite Shein items at the moment:

I’m going to order the pink dress, if I am about 164cm tall and 125 pounds, should I go for the xs or small? Thanks

depends on your bust size. I am normally a size 2 and I have plenty of room in the size XS but I am small busted.
