Splurge Gifts To Enjoy All Year

splurge gifts for moms - dyson cordless vaccum on pinteresting plans blog

Hi guys!!  Today I’m partnering with eBay to share to holiday splurge gifts I treated myself to this year.   These are items I held off on because of the price tag but now I’m wishing I had gotten them sooner.   And you might be surprised that I grabbed them on eBay brand new!

Splurge Gifts To Enjoy All Year

What’s a splurge?  It’s relative to each person.  It takes convincing for me to buy something over $100 and the two gifts I grabbed for myself this holiday season fit into that category.  While I generally think of a splurge gift as something more like a Chloe handbag (been on my list for 3 years now) I’ve been adulting pretty hard these days so practicality won out.

The Dyson Cordless Vacuum

Last year the Dyson cordless vacuum was on my holiday wish list.   Can I tell you how much I’m kicking myself that I didn’t have this in the thick of our home renovation this summer?   I lugged a heavy can vacuum up and down the stairs EVERY DAY crashing it into baseboards and dealing with changing the bag, etc.   Had I bought this Dyson cordless vacuum last Christmas I would have been able to enjoy it all year.

I can’t tell you enough – if you’ve been on the fence about this vacuum GET IT!!!   This really feels like adulting – pleading the case for a vacuum to be a top gift.  It’s so light, easy to empty, and smaller to store than my previous vacuum.    I got the V6 – but there’s also a 7 and 8 series that hold a longer charge in addition to a few other options.   My friends all have the 6 and raved about it so I figured it would work for me and I LOVE IT!!!  There are refurbished options available on eBay at an even greater discount.

eBay has an entire Dyson outlet, so if you’ve been eyeing their supersonic hairdryer that might be something else to check out!   I don’t blow dry my hair but my friends who do say the Dyson hair dryer saves them so much time.   My time is so important to me.  My kids look older by the day, so I cherish any extra time I can get back in my day.

The vacuum also easily converts into what I grew up calling a “dust buster”.   This is something I use ALL the time to clean up after spills (mostly food and crafts gone wrong) below my kitchen island.    Why the flock didn’t I get one sooner???

Espresso Machine

The other gift I bought myself this year was the Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine.  My husband and I both work from home so I was finally ready to invest in a nice espresso maker.   Using eBay I was able to get this Breville espresso maker for $75 less than the next lowest retailer’s listed price.   Like 80% of items on eBay, it was being sold in new condition.   I love that this machine grinds the beans of each cup of espresso at the time of service and steams the milk as well.  This keeps my beverage hotter, longer – and I like to drink my coffee very hot.  It even has a warming tray on top for extra hot delivery!

Do you guys have a nice coffee maker?   We’ve only had this one for about a week but it’s such a treat to drink a cappuccino on these cold mornings.  My husband gave up adding milk to his coffee this year, but I haven’t quite transitioned to black coffee yet.   While the Breville Barista Express is a splurge gift, it can save you a lot of money in the long run if you’re someone who regularly buys lattes or cappuccinos at your local coffee stop.   Five dollars a day for a year adds up (to over $1,800 if you’re wondering).

What would you splurge on?

I’d love to hear from you guys below!!  Is there a gift you’ve been wanting for years but have been having trouble spending the money on yourself?   It just might be worth it this year and I’d encourage you to check into eBay and you might be surprised by the deals you can find there.  They have a deals page where you can peek around for items for the whole family.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.   My splurge gifts were things to help me enjoy more downtime at home with my family and I hope you get to enjoy that this season as well.   Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you to eBay for sponsoring this post.

If you can afford it that’s something you’ll use often.
