With lots of special events this summer like weddings, bridal/baby showers, bachelorette parties, etc., I wanted to give you some fun statement options to wear. It’s easy to shy away from prints (I know I sometimes do) because we’re afraid to make too much of a statement or worry it’ll look overdone. The prints of these dresses are just enough to be standout without being too loud.
Tips for Wearing Statement Prints:
- Don’t overdo the jewelry. Keep it minimal and classic so it doesn’t compete with the print
- Go for shoes in a solid color
- Opt for prints in neutral colors if you usually shy away from prints.
- Choose classic, flattering fits
Statement Print: Leopard
I love this leopard dress! The dress is lined, very figure flattering, and I love the flowy high-low hem. It covers my chest so I was able to just wear pasties. The ruffle details and asymmetrical hem give it the perfect amount of flounce and flow when you walk.
One thing I really like about this dress is that it doesn’t cling to the belly. Not only does this make it super comfortable but you also don’t have to worry about feeling self conscious if you get bloated after eating (like me). It runs slightly small, so size up if you’re usually between sizes.
Statement Print: Soft Plaid
Plaid can feel like a fall/winter pattern. But, when you wear a softer print and pastel colors, it’s great for spring and summer. And, I love that it’s a little different than the typical florals and polka dots we see this time of year.
This plaid dress is adorable for a shower, picnic, or wine tasting – any summer event. I love the soft details, you can’t help but feel super feminine in this dress. Now, this dress is shorter, and I am on the taller side, so I wore some denim shorts underneath so my bum stayed covered! It’s a really nice quality dress. Like the leopard print, it runs small (had to get my hubby to zip me up!) so size up one size if you’re usually between sizes.
