This week marks 2 years since I left my job as a nurse practitioner. At the time, I was planning to keep a foot in the medical field doing home assessments one day a week but the job fell through… and I’m thankful it worked out that way. In honor of my 8 years in the office I thought I’d share these gorgeous Sole Society heels that would be perfect boss babes inside and out of the office.
People often ask me if I miss my last job. I do not! I miss many of my patients and several of my coworkers. I get together with my former work husband and our families on a regular basis, but there are some gals I loved seeing in the office that I’ve lost touch with. While there are drawbacks to owning a business and working from home the advantage of being available to my family far outweighs any downside.
Working from home, particularly in the winter, can be a bit isolating for me at times. I thrive in social situations so I do miss adult conversations in the office, but I’m so grateful to have the flexibility of working from home. Because I have the option to work from 8-11 pm, I get to pick up both my kids from school, volunteer in the classroom, and cook them (picky eaters that they are) dinner. When I worked 10 hour days a half hour away from home I had a lot of family FOMO.
The mom guilt is still there though!! No matter if you’re working from home, even as a stay at home mom, I think most of us feel like we could be doing more, better, etc. I’m sitting on my patio typing this while my kids are playing in the backyard so sometimes I feel guilty that they see my on my electronics so much… but it’s a real blessing that we get to forego daycare.
Suede Block Heel Pumps
Alright, I know some of you are here for the shoes :). They fit true to size and are easy to walk in because of the block heel. Don’t you love the detailing on the heel??? These will look SO GOOD with jeans too for date night.
The textured taupe satchel coordinates perfectly and has a detachable shoulder strap so it goes easily from day to evening.
I recently featured those leopard mules you see in the background above in a post about styling a summer cardigan. They’re awesome and a great shoe to transition you into fall.

July 15, 2019 at 4:10 amI have so many questions….were you afraid to leave your job? How long does it take to make money doing what you are doing? Maybe you could teach a course on this?

July 16, 2019 at 3:04 amHi Tonya!
It took me about a year before I started making good money from blogging. I worked in healthcare so I knew I could always go back to a job because there’s a pretty high need for nurse practitioners and I had worked for 8 years with the same employer. I have several blog posts under the lifestyle tab with blogging tips. I’ve considered an e-course but eeeew – my time is so limited already….
Thanks for reading!
