The Best Farmhouse Chic Home Decor Pieces under $100

So many of you have been asking for more home decor content here on Pinteresting Plans. And, it only makes sense seeing as this blog technically started as a home decor and DIY blog! I definitely want to start incorporating more home decor content for you so stay tuned (and leave any requests in the comments please!)

My home decor style is neutral, rustic, farmhouse chic. Just like my wardrobe, I like things that are light and casual because I think it makes a space look so much more open and bright. Check out these before/after pictures from our living room. It’s hard to believe that back in 2015 I was 7 months pregnant and didn’t even know what blogging was when I first toured our home.

If you want to know how we redid our fireplace you can check out my fireplace refacing DIY.

So, today I figured I’d round up some amazing farmhouse chic pieces you can snag for $100 or less. I know not everyone has the same home decor style as me, but I think a lot of these pieces are super versatile to incorporate into many different decor styles.

Midsummer Throw: I love keeping blankets around not only to snuggle up with, but also to throw down on the sofa when the boys are eating, playing, breathing near my white furniture.

Creative Co-op 6-Piece Vase & Tray Set: These little glass vases and tray would look great on any table or shelf by themselves, but also with little flower stems in each one.

Creative Co-op Wall Storage with Hooks and Baskets: Creative storage options are always great for organizing all the little bits around the house (like mail, lego pieces, extra pens, you know the drill). I adore the rustic style of this organizer but also how versatile and functional it is.

Grace Set of 2 Bracket Shelves: These double set of shelves would be perfect for an empty wall or above a desk. The dark wood and dark brackets make them a focal piece.

Hutson Designs Reclaimed Wood Shelf with Hooks: The distressed white-washed wood on this shelf cabinet is so cute. This piece would work great in so many ways – put it in a bathroom, an entryway, kitchen, or office.

Treasure & Bond Jersey Rope Throw: I love the chunky knit style of this blanket. It’d bring great texture to any sofa or bed like the pom-pom trimmed one I have in my living room now.

Treasure & Bond Jersey Braid Accent Pillow: Just like the chunky knit blanket, this pillow is the perfect cozy companion piece.

Beekman 1802 FarmHouse Railway Table Lamp: Lighting can be a great accent to any room. I love the rustic style of this railway table lamp.

Beekman 1802 FarmHouse Gatherer Wire Pendant Light: If you’re looking for a hanging light for above a dining room table or kitchen island, a wire style light like this is a great option.

Rustic Metal Punched Wall Clock: I like to mix up my wall decor so it’s not just art/frames. A wall clock is a great way to add some new style to a blank wall.

Tabel Top Galvanized Metal Organizer: How perfect is this organizer? It could be used on a table to hold napkins and cutlery or on a desk to hold pens or even in the bathroom vanity to hold toiletries.

Rustic Wood Pillar Large Candle Holder: Who doesn’t like having candles buring around the house?! I like this candle holder that come in different sizes perfect for a mantle piece (up high enough that it’s away from the hands of small boys).

Preserved Boxwood Wreath: Pops of greenery is the key to a good farmhouse chic look and I love how it brings some “life” into the home. But, fake plants are best because who needs one more thing to remember to take care of? This faux greenery wreath would look great above a mantle, hanging over a mirror, or on a door.

Another affordable option I want to include is my Orian organic cable knit indoor/outdoor rug which you can see above in my “after” photo. Technically it’s a bit above $100 but not by much!!!  I searched HIGH AND LOW for this rug after I saw it in my friend Erin’s bedroom.   It is finally back in stock and because it’s an indoor/outdoor rug it’s MORE DURABLE (ie: can withstand two preschool boys).

Hi Rachel- love the colors of your floors and walls! Would you mind sharing what colors they are?
    Thanks!!

      Hi Lauren!!!
Thank you!!! On our walls I picked “Revere Pewter” by Benjamin Moore. It looks light here because the sun was so bright but if I had to do it over I would have lightened it a bit because it’s a bit too dark on gloomy days in my opinion. For our floors – they are red oak – so they pull a honey color with any varnish. So I had them do a white stain over the floors before they resealed them. I am in Connecticut – if you happen to be local I would give you the name of the company I used.
      Happy Monday!!!

Love your “after” photo. Your room looks so much bigger with the lighter colors, and am impressed that you can keep it all clean! We have a rustic-elegant house too, and it has been really fun mixing vintage with new, handcrafted with store-bought, but we chose darker colors to hide the dirt! My favorite of your under $100 picks is the wall clock. I would have never guessed it was from BB&B! Never thought I’d need a clock in this day and age, but I don’t have one on my new stove and it makes me crazy that I have to look for my phone to keep the kids on schedule in the mornings! 🙂 Nipa

      Hi Nipa!!!
Thank you!!! I love clocks as much for decor as for practicality but they work for both!! Similar to a watch – mine had a dead battery but I still wear it like a bracelet. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Great post! Your after photo looks gorgeous! I love the simple, all white look going on. I’m just wondering how do you keep all the neutral pieces stain free and pure white?

I use throw blankets over my furniture to protect them as much as I can from my kiddos. I don’t have any pets and we have an eat in kitchen. I also don’t invest in white pieces – they’re all pretty affordable.
      Thanks Tabitha!!

Do you mind sharing your couches and chairs? Looks beautiful! (Although with soon to be 3 kids under 5 I’d have major anxiety!!)

      Hi Alison!!!
My couch is a few years old from Crate and Barrel. In my opinion it’s too wide (it’s a lounger) for the space but my hubby is obsessed with it so I’m packing my battles :). It had help up well to jumping and unclean hands. My white chairs are both from Ikea. They’re similar to pottery barn options without quite as much angst when you find dried boogers wiped on them (this morning).
Good luck with 3!!! That’s a super power!!!

I didn’t link it because it’s sold out :(. I’m sorry. I got it on overstock.com so you can keep an eye out to see if it returns or if I notice I’ll post about it.
      Thanks for reading 🙂
