Window Seat Radiator Cover

I know this might not pertain to many of you, but if you live in an older home like I do, you may be dealing with unsightly radiators.   I’ve owned 3 homes as an adult.  Two of the three had cast iron radiators – one is a summer cottage that doesn’t have heat at all.   So radiator covers have been something on my radar.   While they give off amazing heat, I don’t care for how the radiators look in my space.   They feel industrial more than cozy.   So in true adult excitement – I want to introduce you to my new Fichman Furniture radiator covers.

Below is a before photo of this room when we were looking at our house 3.5 years ago.    We have done other projects in here but the radiator cover is one of my favorite changes!!

For 3 years I stared at my radiators wishing I knew a handyman who built eye pleasing radiator covers.  Everything I saw online had decorative metal fronts that looked dated to me.   Fichman Furnture offers 6 styles of custom radiator covers – including the “Manhattan” style that I selected.

The covers are cut to exactly fit your space with clear measuring instructions right on the Fichman website.  Should you mess up the measurements (not to throw my husband under the bus), the customer service team (Shiela) is amazing.   Seriously, I cannot say enough about how helpful their team was.

These radiator covers completely transformed our rooms for such a reasonable price.  I was concerned built-ins might shrink our space or be money we couldn’t get back in resale so these radiator covers were the perfect solution.

If you have radiators you’re trying to ignore that just won’t go away I HIGHLY recommend letting Fichman Furniture dress them up.  I now have more shelf space to display all my impulse purchases from the Target home section!

I’m curious how many of you have radiators in your home?   Our house was built in the 1920’s so she’s no spring chicken.   But we gave her a nice facelift this summer and Fichman Furniture really made for such a beautiful finishing touch.

Hey! I literally didn’t even know this was a thing. They look amazing! I like the old industrial look of radiators but they are a one trick pony. If your decor doesn’t match that look, it’s an eyesore! Yours look perfect with your decorating style. I love those old homes in SF but they do have their quirks!

Thanks Rachel. It’s much cozier having something over them when you want to sit on them :).
But it’s probably not as cold in San Fran right now as it is in Connecticut.
