Winter Athleisure Outfit Ideas

winter weather athleisure outfit ideas

You all know I LOVE athleisure style.  What’s not to love?  It’s comfortable and versatile.  But finding ways to wear athleisure in the colder months can be a little bit harder, so I wanted to share some outfit inspiration for rocking your favorite athleisure pieces in the winter.  This can be especially useful since a lot of people have New Year’s resolutions around getting fit and being more active.  We’ve gotta do something to work off all those Christmas cookies and holiday cocktails!

I’m teaming up with Lord & Taylor again for this post.  Lord & Taylor’s activewear can help give you that extra boost needed to get you started on all of your resolutions this year!  They are running the New Year, New You sale January 1st, 2019 through January 8th, 2019.   You can save an EXTRA 15% off with code NEWYEAR!

The first outfit I put together was with these high-waisted camo leggings (similar camo leggings here).  I love high-waisted leggings because the last thing I want to deal with when I’m out (besides hangry kids) is a muffin top.  Because these leggings are made with a decent amount of cotton, they are good for exercising outdoors in the winter, but they’d probably show some sweat if you were working out indoors.  I am wearing an XS for reference.

On top I’m wearing a textured white pullover.  I love the neckline and thumb holes!  I’m wearing an XS here for reference.  I am usually XS or small in tops like this and the XS fits perfect.  The funnel neck is nice and warm for the winter months and a great layering piece for workouts.

For shoes, I chose these super pale pink retro leather Reebok sneakers.  They fit true to size and I love the style and color.  These sneakers match tons of looks and are just really easy to style.  The Reebok sneakers are also very practical and stylish for a sweat sesh or just “running” errands.

With the whole look, I’m also wearing my Fitbit, available at Lord & Taylor.  It’s the perfect athleisure accessory.  I like being able to track my daily steps and make sure I’m not being too sedentary during these cold months!   Now that I work from home, it is more of an effort than it used to be to get my steps in each day.

In this next look, I have these great black heathered joggers.  These joggers are fitted, which makes them very flattering.  They would work great for any outdoor workout because they’ll keep you plenty warm.  They are also super soft and have pockets (which I LOVE in joggers because you need somewhere to put your phone).   Also for all my fellow tall girls, they are nice and long.  On top I have this pink quilted jacket which is fairly lightweight, but still very warm considering.  It also packs into a little bag which makes it convenient for the gym.  I’m wearing XS in both pieces.

I’m also wearing a fun pom-pom beanie with both these outfits.  I LOVE the color combo of this beanie!!  Super feminine but also toasty warm and practical.

I love that white pullover! I never look this chic in working out clothes. Rachel, I was wondering if you could so a post on how you use Pinterest to plan and organize your fashion looks and blog posts. I’ve always struggled with Pinterest, mine is kind of a mess and I feel like I don’t know how to organize and use it correctly. Thank you!

      Hi Rachel!!
I am not a Pinterest expert by any means so I’m not sure my advice would be worthwhile. I organize my outfits by season and home interior pins by room. Beyond that I’d seek out someone who has had more Pinterest success than myself.
      Good luck!

Hi Rachel! I love both of these looks but am surprised that the pants, and sleeves on the top, are long enough for you! I am 5’9” and have a hard time finding pants and tops that are long enough. Your clothes (even from places like old navy) always seem to fit you well and I’d love to know your tricks!:)

      Hi Cami!!!
I don’t have a trick. I wear mostly skinny jeans so I like them to hit at the ankle so I order regular length. I feel like the length of leggings and joggers hitting at the ankle or mid calf looks normal. I occasionally find the sleeves of jackets to run short and I can almost never find wide leg pants that fit since they should fall below the ankle.
      Hope that help!!
